Ever feel like you’re drifting? You’re not sure of your place in the world, you keep quitting stuff—and you’re not really a better person or in a better place than you were a year or two ago.

If that describes you at all, there’s a good chance you need something you don’t have: roots.

In this four-part series, we’ll explore what God has to say in Scripture about how being rooted is just what we need to be anchored, to keep doing hard things, and to become the person you were created to be.

Join us as we talk about what exactly it means to be rooted, why it matters, and three ways to make it happen.

PART 1: WHAT’S AT STAKE

Sick of trying and failing, feeling alone, or being stuck in destructive patterns? There’s a reason you’re struggling—and it doesn’t have to be that way. As we begin the series, we’ll explore what it looks and feels like to be without roots, and why it’s so important to pursue a different reality for ourselves.

Text: Matthew 13:20-21

Speaker: Justin Gerhardt

PART 2: DON’T GO IT ALONE

Nothing will stunt your faith like isolation. In this message, we'll explore what happens when we connect meaningfully with a handful of people who are following Jesus. We'll also hear from someone who did exactly that, and how it changed everything.

Text: Psalm 11:19-22, 25

Speaker: Justin Gerhardt

PART 3: TESTING THE WATERS

Want to become more rooted? You'll need to test the waters with God. In this message, we'll talk about why trust will anchor and nourish you like little else.

Text: Jeremiah 17:7-8

Speaker: Justin Gerhardt

PART 4: EMBRACING WHAT’S NEXT

Too often, when we’re frustrated by our own behavior, we focus our efforts for improvement in the wrong place. Jesus called righteous behavior "fruit"—and more often than not, a fruit problem isn't just a fruit problem, it's a root problem. In this message, we’ll talk about how the intentional pursuit of change strengthens our rootedness and eventually bears some beautiful fruit.
