General Information Re: Jinja

• Established in 1901 and is the second commercial centre in Uganda.
• Located in the south east of Uganda, 87 km north east of the capital, Kampala.
• Situated on the shores of Lake Victoria, near to the source of the White Nile River.
• Is the chief town of Jinja District and considered the capital of the Kingdom of Busoga.

History of the Church

• 1994 - The work started by a team of five families.
• 2004 - A new team of three families is formed  (Manrys, Langfords and Bogles).
• 2004 - Rochester Church of Christ takes on sponsorship of the Bogles, while the Round Rock Church of Christ provides their work fund.
