In 1970, Francis Schaeffer wrote: "The church today should be getting ready and talking about issues of tomorrow and not issues of 20 and 30 years ago, because the church is going to be squeezed in a wringer. If we found it tough in these last few years, what are we going to do when we are faced with the real changes that are ahead?" You are already aware of the validity of this prophecy. Our culture has definitely changed and it's not finished yet. You perhaps have heard that America has transitioned from the "modern" to a "post-modern" era and have questioned what that means. Over the next few weeks let's allow the Apostle John and his first letter to the Christians in Asia Minor to address "life in transition" because the church was facing a similar cultural situation.
